The town council have decided to build a new depot for the Trolleybuses on a plot of land in " Zátiší" near the western section of route 12. The site was originally a military camp. The construction is expected to be completed after two years and the move from the over crowded depot at "Cukrovarská" will take lace in several stages.
The countless diversions and splitting up of the various routes due to works on the "Ameriké ul." (see our report from 07.04.2008) have now been cancelled and the running has returned to normal operation
During 2009 Skoda is to deliver 8 new Trolleybuses comprised of 3 two axle type 24Tr and 5 articulated type 25Tr. The 2 axle vehicles are to be delivered without auxiliary motors and the articulated with auxiliary diesel units form Kirsch in Germany.
Our photo shows the depot entrance on the Cukrovarská Street. To the left the rear end of Skoda 14Tr number 487 entering the depot and to the right number 434 parked on Plovární Street. Clearly visible the tram rails, remnants of the previous tram operation.
