Mexico City (Ciudad de Mexico) [MX] - Changes of the network because Metrobus

J. Lehmann - 21.07.08

Trolleybus Service on Eje 3 Oriente, south of San Läzaro/Metro Moctezuma, was discontinued in mid-February, without advance notice, and dismantling of the overhead wiring began immediately. The reason given was that this corridor is the next one chosen to receive "Metrobüs"
Service, after Eje 4 Sur, and construction of the busway lanes and high-platform stations were planned to begin soon, although there remained several months of construction on the Eje 4 Sur corridor to be completed.
Trolleybus routes R1 and R2 are now closed. Route F had been extended southwards, along routes R1/R2 wiring, to Metro Mixhuca
as recently as December or January, but has now reverted to terminating at Metro Moctezuma. Metrobüs line 3 (Eje 3 Oriente) is planned to be extended farther north, replacing trolleybus route F, in a second phase.
