Presov [SK] - Two new articulated trolleys on order
J. Lehmann - 13.04.15
In January 2015, the municipal public transport operator (DPMP) signed a contract with the consortium Skoda/SOR for the delivery of two new articulated trolleybuses of the 31Tr type. The two vehicles will be fitted with air-conditioning and an electronic passenger information system, just like the earlier set of seven buses (713-719) delivered from 2011 to 2013. Delivery is expected by 15 December 2015.
This latest order continues the process of gradual fleet modernization. The two new trolleybuses are slated to replace the older Skoda 15Tr units dating from 1991. Presently 10 of these are still officially in the company books, even though three (93, 99 and 100) were mothballed during the past year.
The acquisition of modern low-floor trolleybuses in Presov initially started in 2006. Until 2008, 7 single and 5 articulated units were delivered by the consortium of Irisbus/Skoda. On 22 June 2011 one such Skoda 25Tr bus is seen in revenue service on line 8. Photo: Maciej Zysko
