J. Lehmann - 16.02.15
After a public procurement process, 10 trolleybuses of the Jelcz PR110E type have been acquired second-hand from Lublin, Poland. They were transported to the Ukraine between September and November 2014 and were re-numbered as 162-171. Previously, the vehicles had carried the Lublin numbers 3825, 3782, 3791, 3797, 3774. 3783, 3805 (Jelcz120MT), 3771, 3811 and 3832. During the past few years, the same number of older trolleybuses has been withdrawn in Rivne. In 2011, the Skoda 9Tr 003 dating from 1974 became surplus to requirements, while in 2013 seven additional 9Tr dating from 1975-1980 were also retired. Three of the five articulated YMZ type T1 trolleys have also ceased operations already.
Presently the trolleybus fleet in Rivne consists of 80 units, 30 of which are still Skoda 9Tr models delivered between 1974 and 1982. The municipal network consists of 8 different lines, although the former line 8 was replaced by a new line 10 on 12 January 2015.
The former Lublin trolley Jelcz PR110T Nr. 3771 has been re-numbered as 169 and also repainted into a red and cream livery. On 30 November 2014, the bus is seen in service on line 2 in Rivne. Photo: Yura Lisnichuk
