J. Lehmann - 29.07.13
The contract for the supply of twelve new trolley buses went to Solaris Bus & Coach. They will be delivered in two batches of six each by the end of April 2014 and by the end of September 2014 respectively. The trolleybuses are of the type 18M (Medcom equipment) with batteries. Solaris Bus & Coach was successful in the Lublin bid against a consortium of the local company, Ursus, and the Ukrainian company Bogdan.
Meanwhile in the next few months the first of 20 standard Solaris 12M trolleybuses will be delivered, then 38 trolleybuses of the type Ursus / Bogdan will follow, the first by the end of 2013.
This will ensure that the 17 high-floor Jelcz PR110 and the five Jelcz 120MT trolleybuses will be replaced, but the majority of new vehicles are intended for the expansion of the trolleybus network. The fleet currently comprises 64 units and will then grow to over 100 units. Ten Jelcz PR110E have now been given to Lutsk (Ukraine), the last vehicles were nos. 3766 and 3813 which found new homes there in April as nos. 218 and 219.
